Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology and Greek Society of Coloproctology are joining forces for the first time in a
series of webinars aiming towards standardization in clinical practice. Each webinar will include 3 lectures of 20
minutes delivered by world renowned and local speakers from various disciplines.
The first two highly successful webinars were dedicated on the management of Significant Polyp Early Rectal Cancer
(SPERC) lesion. The 3rd webinar is schedule to take place on 2nd December 2025 and focuses on the
The first lecture of the webinar will address Contemporary management of haemorrhoidal disease and will be delivered
by Dr Zoe Garoufalia, Consultant Surgeon at Hygeia Hospital, Athens, Greece. This will be followed by a lecture from
Mr Carlo Ratto, Professor Surgery at the Catholic University of Rome, Italy. His lecture is titled Complex fistula
in ano: is there an ideal operation? Final lecture will be delivered by Mr Janindra Warusavitarne, Consultant Surgeon at the St Marks Hospital, London, UK. His lecture will focus on Diagnostic workout & decision making of
rectal prolapse.
An interactive discussion will follow the conclusion of the three lectures as the participants will have the
opportunity to submit questions. The webinar will be moderated by Dr Iraklis Katsoulis, Member of the Executive
Board of GSCP and Consultant Surgeon at St Savvas Anticancer Centre, Athens, Greece and Dr Alex Kofokotsios,
